Narrative:
Had medical emergency while in cruise flight ont-msp. Diverted to slc and had to land over maximum landing weight. Made sure (with manuals on board and with dispatch) that weight was ok for runway 16L slc (17000 ft available). Declared medical emergency with ZLC. Should also have told them (in retrospect) that we would be above maximum landing weight (145600 pounds versus maximum landing weight of 142400 pounds). Rate of descent at touchdown was 200 FPM. Logbook entries made for overweight landing and use of medical kit and oxygen.
