Narrative:

On departure from runway 16R at sac airport, flew runway heading (165 degrees) on departure instead of pre departure clearance assigned heading of 120 degrees. Turned to heading 120 degrees after handoff to departure control. When asked if given assigned heading for takeoff discovered heading assignment in remarks of pre departure clearance. Was conducting IOE with first officer (his first takeoff) and believe I overlooked heading assignment while conducting training and observation. Lack of usual SID assignment should have alerted me to review pre departure clearance clearance more thoroughly.

Narrative: ON DEP FROM RWY 16R AT SAC ARPT, FLEW RWY HDG (165 DEGS) ON DEP INSTEAD OF PDC ASSIGNED HDG OF 120 DEGS. TURNED TO HDG 120 DEGS AFTER HDOF TO DEP CTL. WHEN ASKED IF GIVEN ASSIGNED HDG FOR TKOF DISCOVERED HDG ASSIGNMENT IN REMARKS OF PDC. WAS CONDUCTING IOE WITH FO (HIS FIRST TKOF) AND BELIEVE I OVERLOOKED HDG ASSIGNMENT WHILE CONDUCTING TRAINING AND OBSERVATION. LACK OF USUAL SID ASSIGNMENT SHOULD HAVE ALERTED ME TO REVIEW PDC CLRNC MORE THOROUGHLY.
