Narrative:
Transporting plane after dropping off delivery pilot in bow, first pilot #1 informed me 'plenty of fuel' and gauges both displayed 3/4 full. I failed to check myself, visually, trusting pilot #1. Started to experience engine failure 6 mi east of tpa, and declared emergency landing for runway 27. Taxied to ramp under own power and discovered both tanks dry. Fueled plane and completed flight to clw. Trusted information of other pilot and should have checked myself (as PIC).
