Narrative:

We were dispatched into MVFR WX. The PIC and I decided to flight follow with the ZMA. We were approximately 90 NM down range at 15500 ft when we observed a master caution light illuminate. For approximately 90 seconds we had no secondary indication of a malfunction. We reset the master caution, however, the master caution would reactive. Finally I saw the #1 engine oil pressure gauge falling rapidly. An emergency engine shutdown was accomplished, we declared an emergency with ZME and requested an immediate IFR clearance, destination hst. We completed all emergency checklists and experienced an uneventful landing. The engine oil cap failed and was found to be in 5 or 6 pieces.
