Narrative:

Landed runway 36L, exited at M6. Called mem ground and was directed to proceed via taxiway north, hold short of runway 27. When abeam of the FBO buildings, mem ground told us to give way to a heavy aircraft Y that would be crossing runway 27 at intersection C. I spotted the heavy at taxiway a and intersection C, just about to cross runway 27 at intersection C. This aircraft didn't appear to be in a position of potential conflict with us. A short time later, as we approached taxiway a mem ground told us to cross runway 27 and give way to a boeing aircraft Z, following the previously idented heavy crossing runway 27 at intersection C. Again, this second aircraft didn't appear to be in a position of potential conflict with us. We started to cross runway 27 and taxiway north. Then I saw a boeing aircraft west turning in front of us from taxiway north onto taxiway Z, perpendicular to my line of sight. This boeing would have had more of a potential taxi conflict with the 2 previous ground taxi calls than us. Up until this time (turning perpendicular to our line of sight), I had not noticed this boeing. As we cleared runway 27 and approached the turn onto taxiway Z, I glanced out back of my window and saw a DC10/MD11 aircraft V touchdown on runway 9. Mem ground asked us our location. I responded 'just turning off of taxiway north onto taxiway Z.' nothing else from mem ground. It was the tone and way mem ground asked for our location which makes me feel when he cleared 'aircraft X cross runway 27,' that he was referring to the boeing aircraft west in front of us and he was surprised when our aircraft did in fact cross runway 27. I questioned the other crew members and they heard our clearance to cross runway 27 along with the 'give way to' calls from ground control. In short, I feel ground thought we (aircraft X) were the other boeing aircraft west in front of us on taxiway north.

Title: GND HANDLING IS COMPLICATED AT MEM DURING THE LATE NIGHT HIGH TFC HRS.

Narrative: LANDED RWY 36L, EXITED AT M6. CALLED MEM GND AND WAS DIRECTED TO PROCEED VIA TXWY N, HOLD SHORT OF RWY 27. WHEN ABEAM OF THE FBO BUILDINGS, MEM GND TOLD US TO GIVE WAY TO A HVY ACFT Y THAT WOULD BE XING RWY 27 AT INTXN C. I SPOTTED THE HVY AT TXWY A AND INTXN C, JUST ABOUT TO CROSS RWY 27 AT INTXN C. THIS ACFT DIDN'T APPEAR TO BE IN A POS OF POTENTIAL CONFLICT WITH US. A SHORT TIME LATER, AS WE APCHED TXWY A MEM GND TOLD US TO CROSS RWY 27 AND GIVE WAY TO A BOEING ACFT Z, FOLLOWING THE PREVIOUSLY IDENTED HVY XING RWY 27 AT INTXN C. AGAIN, THIS SECOND ACFT DIDN'T APPEAR TO BE IN A POS OF POTENTIAL CONFLICT WITH US. WE STARTED TO CROSS RWY 27 AND TXWY N. THEN I SAW A BOEING ACFT W TURNING IN FRONT OF US FROM TXWY N ONTO TXWY Z, PERPENDICULAR TO MY LINE OF SIGHT. THIS BOEING WOULD HAVE HAD MORE OF A POTENTIAL TAXI CONFLICT WITH THE 2 PREVIOUS GND TAXI CALLS THAN US. UP UNTIL THIS TIME (TURNING PERPENDICULAR TO OUR LINE OF SIGHT), I HAD NOT NOTICED THIS BOEING. AS WE CLRED RWY 27 AND APCHED THE TURN ONTO TXWY Z, I GLANCED OUT BACK OF MY WINDOW AND SAW A DC10/MD11 ACFT V TOUCHDOWN ON RWY 9. MEM GND ASKED US OUR LOCATION. I RESPONDED 'JUST TURNING OFF OF TXWY N ONTO TXWY Z.' NOTHING ELSE FROM MEM GND. IT WAS THE TONE AND WAY MEM GND ASKED FOR OUR LOCATION WHICH MAKES ME FEEL WHEN HE CLRED 'ACFT X CROSS RWY 27,' THAT HE WAS REFERRING TO THE BOEING ACFT W IN FRONT OF US AND HE WAS SURPRISED WHEN OUR ACFT DID IN FACT CROSS RWY 27. I QUESTIONED THE OTHER CREW MEMBERS AND THEY HEARD OUR CLRNC TO CROSS RWY 27 ALONG WITH THE 'GIVE WAY TO' CALLS FROM GND CTL. IN SHORT, I FEEL GND THOUGHT WE (ACFT X) WERE THE OTHER BOEING ACFT W IN FRONT OF US ON TXWY N.
