Narrative:
Just after setting takeoff power the #2 EPR dropped to about 1.6. All other engine instruments were normal. Due to our slow speed I elected to stop the takeoff and clear the runway. After conferring with the crew and referencing the maintenance dispatch manual we returned to the gate for maintenance. First officer and engineer did a good job dealing with this problem. The decision to stop was made to give us more time to make sure our first perception of our problem was correct.
