Narrative:

I worked from XA30 until XB30 on the evening of mar/xa/00. WX was impacting the ZJX airspace along the east coast and gulf of mexico area. Almost all aircraft were rerted into the western half of florida for WX avoidance. Just off the west coast of florida we had MOA's hot surface to FL500 with a special operation going on that tied up a bunch of usable airspace. At one point, the east coast was shut down for 4-6 hours with all traffic being rerted into a few small sectors along the west coast of florida. Some aircraft were held down to FL200/FL220 because of high altitude sector saturation. Mia and fll airports were closed for a few hours. Some controllers including myself were plugged in and working in excess of 2 hours, some longer than 3 hours. There were just too many airplanes for these sectors to handle. Numerous operrors and airspace deviations occurred.
