Narrative:
Received ATIS information at gate at lax. Received taxi instructions to runway 24L which changed to runway 25R. We taxied to the south side of the airport and were told to transition from taxiway to taxiway B at C10. On taxiway B we continued to runway 25R when we inadvertently taxied up to 2 temporary above ground red lights. We made an abrupt stop, but ended up forward of the red lights. We notified ground and had an airport vehicle remove the lights and escort the aircraft back to taxiway C via C3. While waiting for the escort, several aircraft were given the clearance to transition back to taxiway C at C5 which was 2 txwys prior to our position. There was no damage to aircraft or temporary lights. There was no mention of taxiway B being closed or construction on ATIS information. While construction flood lights pointed in our direction seemed to decrease our forward vision. When we notified ground of our situation, the controller did not seem aware of our position, as he asked us to turn left at C4, which we were past. Supplemental information from acn 469086: we noticed vehicles and flood lights at the approach end of taxiway B. While approaching the intersection of taxiway C5, the first officer noticed a red light on his side of the taxiway. I stopped the aircraft quickly. There were 2 temporary red lights straddling taxiway B, which I had not seen. The proximity of the lights to the aircraft required us to shut down the engines so the lights could be moved by the escort vehicle driver. The closure of any portion of taxiway B was not mentioned on the ATIS, nor airport NOTAMS. I believe the temporary lights had just been placed on the taxiway and the ground controller was not aware of their presence, or the controller forgot about us. Factors affecting crew: 1) fatigue. 2) target lock on -- concentrating on vehicles and floor lights further down the taxiway.

Title: A TAXIING B757-200 DURING A NIGHT OP PASSES 2 RED LIGHTS THAT WERE ON CLOSED TXWY B AT LAX, CA.
Narrative: RECEIVED ATIS INFO AT GATE AT LAX. RECEIVED TAXI INSTRUCTIONS TO RWY 24L WHICH CHANGED TO RWY 25R. WE TAXIED TO THE S SIDE OF THE ARPT AND WERE TOLD TO TRANSITION FROM TXWY TO TXWY B AT C10. ON TXWY B WE CONTINUED TO RWY 25R WHEN WE INADVERTENTLY TAXIED UP TO 2 TEMPORARY ABOVE GND RED LIGHTS. WE MADE AN ABRUPT STOP, BUT ENDED UP FORWARD OF THE RED LIGHTS. WE NOTIFIED GND AND HAD AN ARPT VEHICLE REMOVE THE LIGHTS AND ESCORT THE ACFT BACK TO TXWY C VIA C3. WHILE WAITING FOR THE ESCORT, SEVERAL ACFT WERE GIVEN THE CLRNC TO TRANSITION BACK TO TXWY C AT C5 WHICH WAS 2 TXWYS PRIOR TO OUR POS. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO ACFT OR TEMPORARY LIGHTS. THERE WAS NO MENTION OF TXWY B BEING CLOSED OR CONSTRUCTION ON ATIS INFO. WHILE CONSTRUCTION FLOOD LIGHTS POINTED IN OUR DIRECTION SEEMED TO DECREASE OUR FORWARD VISION. WHEN WE NOTIFIED GND OF OUR SIT, THE CTLR DID NOT SEEM AWARE OF OUR POS, AS HE ASKED US TO TURN L AT C4, WHICH WE WERE PAST. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 469086: WE NOTICED VEHICLES AND FLOOD LIGHTS AT THE APCH END OF TXWY B. WHILE APCHING THE INTXN OF TXWY C5, THE FO NOTICED A RED LIGHT ON HIS SIDE OF THE TXWY. I STOPPED THE ACFT QUICKLY. THERE WERE 2 TEMPORARY RED LIGHTS STRADDLING TXWY B, WHICH I HAD NOT SEEN. THE PROX OF THE LIGHTS TO THE ACFT REQUIRED US TO SHUT DOWN THE ENGS SO THE LIGHTS COULD BE MOVED BY THE ESCORT VEHICLE DRIVER. THE CLOSURE OF ANY PORTION OF TXWY B WAS NOT MENTIONED ON THE ATIS, NOR ARPT NOTAMS. I BELIEVE THE TEMPORARY LIGHTS HAD JUST BEEN PLACED ON THE TXWY AND THE GND CTLR WAS NOT AWARE OF THEIR PRESENCE, OR THE CTLR FORGOT ABOUT US. FACTORS AFFECTING CREW: 1) FATIGUE. 2) TARGET LOCK ON -- CONCENTRATING ON VEHICLES AND FLOOR LIGHTS FURTHER DOWN THE TXWY.
