Narrative:
After shutting down engine #1 and feathering engine #2 in order to accommodate a last min passenger, our #1 inverter faulted. Mins later while attempting a maintenance requested circuit breaker reset, smoke developed in cockpit. I initiated a controled evacuate/evacuation of 41 passenger which resulted in no injuries. Aircraft never left gate, but successive opening and closing of main cabin door resulted in ACARS-generated out-time. Checklists were followed explicitly and at no time were FARS, company procedures, etc, violated in any way. Passenger were happy with flight after new aircraft xfer. Source of smoke unknown.
