Narrative:
On apr/xa/00 en route to marathon, fl, flight had to execute a go around at 500 ft MSL. The crew had to initiate a go around due to traffic on the runway. Supplemental information from acn 469886: while taxiing off the gate at mth, my first officer was busy with paperwork and I was unfamiliar with the field. I asked him where the turnoff for the end of the runway was, and he stated 'go all the way down.' as I taxied, I caught myself going too far and stopped without enough room to make the turn. The taxiway continued on to a pad further down, so I continued only to find the space rather small. It still appeared to be enough room to turn around on. While turning around, the right main left the pavement onto a hard bed of shell and crushed coral. The right main came back on the pavement with no additional thrust required. We continued the taxi without further problem. This situation could have been prevented easily by slowing down and waiting for my first officer to finish his paperwork and slowing down the aircraft in an unfamiliar environment.

Title: SF340 CREW EXECUTES GAR ACCOUNT ACFT ON THE RWY AT MARATHON, FL. DURING TAXI, UNFAMILIARITY WITH THE ARPT LEADS TO TAXIING OFF THE FAR END OF THE RWY.
Narrative: ON APR/XA/00 ENRTE TO MARATHON, FL, FLT HAD TO EXECUTE A GAR AT 500 FT MSL. THE CREW HAD TO INITIATE A GAR DUE TO TFC ON THE RWY. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 469886: WHILE TAXIING OFF THE GATE AT MTH, MY FO WAS BUSY WITH PAPERWORK AND I WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH THE FIELD. I ASKED HIM WHERE THE TURNOFF FOR THE END OF THE RWY WAS, AND HE STATED 'GO ALL THE WAY DOWN.' AS I TAXIED, I CAUGHT MYSELF GOING TOO FAR AND STOPPED WITHOUT ENOUGH ROOM TO MAKE THE TURN. THE TXWY CONTINUED ON TO A PAD FURTHER DOWN, SO I CONTINUED ONLY TO FIND THE SPACE RATHER SMALL. IT STILL APPEARED TO BE ENOUGH ROOM TO TURN AROUND ON. WHILE TURNING AROUND, THE R MAIN LEFT THE PAVEMENT ONTO A HARD BED OF SHELL AND CRUSHED CORAL. THE R MAIN CAME BACK ON THE PAVEMENT WITH NO ADDITIONAL THRUST REQUIRED. WE CONTINUED THE TAXI WITHOUT FURTHER PROB. THIS SIT COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED EASILY BY SLOWING DOWN AND WAITING FOR MY FO TO FINISH HIS PAPERWORK AND SLOWING DOWN THE ACFT IN AN UNFAMILIAR ENVIRONMENT.
