Narrative:
During an ATC commanded descent from FL350 to FL310, ATC called at approximately FL333 with 'air carrier X turn immediately to 270 degree heading.' at this same time we also received a 'traffic, traffic' alert on TCASII. We had TCASII on 40 NM range. Traffic appeared directly ahead on TCASII and 300 ft low. As we were descending at 1000 FPM, I applied back pressure to yoke, started my turn, and disconnected the autoplt. A significantly hard pitch up occurred. We reported TCASII event to ATC and when clear of traffic returned to course and descent to FL310. 2 flight attendants, in aisle with serving cart, were thrown to floor and injured. We completed flight and called emt's for the flight attendants. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter said that there was no TCASII RA but that he estimated the miss distance at 300 ft and 3 mi. Injuries were minor to both flight attendants.

Title: ARTCC CALLED FOR AN 'IMMEDIATE' TURN ACCOMPANIED BY A 'TFC' TA FROM TCASII. PLT AGGRESSIVELY TURNED AND BROKE A DSCNT. 2 FLT ATTENDANTS WERE INJURED.
Narrative: DURING AN ATC COMMANDED DSCNT FROM FL350 TO FL310, ATC CALLED AT APPROX FL333 WITH 'ACR X TURN IMMEDIATELY TO 270 DEG HDG.' AT THIS SAME TIME WE ALSO RECEIVED A 'TFC, TFC' ALERT ON TCASII. WE HAD TCASII ON 40 NM RANGE. TFC APPEARED DIRECTLY AHEAD ON TCASII AND 300 FT LOW. AS WE WERE DSNDING AT 1000 FPM, I APPLIED BACK PRESSURE TO YOKE, STARTED MY TURN, AND DISCONNECTED THE AUTOPLT. A SIGNIFICANTLY HARD PITCH UP OCCURRED. WE RPTED TCASII EVENT TO ATC AND WHEN CLR OF TFC RETURNED TO COURSE AND DSCNT TO FL310. 2 FLT ATTENDANTS, IN AISLE WITH SERVING CART, WERE THROWN TO FLOOR AND INJURED. WE COMPLETED FLT AND CALLED EMT'S FOR THE FLT ATTENDANTS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR SAID THAT THERE WAS NO TCASII RA BUT THAT HE ESTIMATED THE MISS DISTANCE AT 300 FT AND 3 MI. INJURIES WERE MINOR TO BOTH FLT ATTENDANTS.
