Narrative:

ATC advised us (air carrier flight abcd) to cross benky intersection at 10000 ft. The PNF read back 'cross benky at 10000 ft.' 10000 ft was put into altitude select and confirmed by myself (PF) 'benky 10000 ft' and entered into the FMS, which was then confirmed by PNF. 10 mi past benky, ATC stated that we were told to maintain 11000 ft. We advised ATC we were told to cross benky at 10000 ft. No other inquiry by ATC was made. We were told to contact next controller.

Narrative: ATC ADVISED US (ACR FLT ABCD) TO CROSS BENKY INTXN AT 10000 FT. THE PNF READ BACK 'CROSS BENKY AT 10000 FT.' 10000 FT WAS PUT INTO ALT SELECT AND CONFIRMED BY MYSELF (PF) 'BENKY 10000 FT' AND ENTERED INTO THE FMS, WHICH WAS THEN CONFIRMED BY PNF. 10 MI PAST BENKY, ATC STATED THAT WE WERE TOLD TO MAINTAIN 11000 FT.
