Narrative:
A male passenger came to me to inform me that a female passenger behind him was stealing liquor from our parked beverage cart and that she was intoxicated and becoming extremely disruptive. True to form, the #2 flight attendant and I looked up the aisle to see this female passenger leaving the aft vestibule area with her arms full of liquor minis. As there were quite a few people standing around the bathroom area and we were preparing trays of water to deliver during the movie, we had not seen this. We followed her to her seat where we asked for the liquor back. We immediately could tell that she was indeed intoxicated from her slurred speech, staggering walk, and impaired ability to function. We opened her bag to find dozens of liquor bottles that she had stolen from the cart in numerous runs to the back. The passenger seated next to her informed us that this lady had also given herself 2 shots of something, once in the stomach, once in the thigh. We informed the intoxicated passenger that she could no longer drink any alcohol. She became furious. We asked her to move to the last row of coach, which was empty because other passenger were becoming alarmed at her behavior (we had many children on the flight). She did move, but only long enough to rob a flight attendant of her wallet, jewelry, and glasses, which we later discovered in the passenger's purse. The passenger's behavior worsened. When she would not take her seat after demanding more alcohol, I called the purser. He attempted to get her to calm down and take her seat, but the passenger refused, finally giving him a push. The captain was called and after he tried to get her to follow instructions, the passenger also pushed him. The captain left to retrieve the wire tie. It took 3 men, 2 women and 1/2 hour to get this woman restrained, as she was fighting, screaming, and even bit a flight attendant. I believe if my airline had provided the captain with handcuffs, instead of a flimsy wire tie, this scene would not have been prolonged as it was. The passenger was finally subdued and the decision was made to land in gander, newfoundland, to have her removed. She continued to wail until landing. She was frothing at the mouth and was uncontrollable. The canadian police dragged her off the plane, again with much resistance. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated that everyone was frightened and terrorized by the woman. Children were very scared and were screaming and crying. The woman was mad at the woman sitting next to her, because she told the crew about her injecting herself in various areas of her body. The mad woman pinned the witness (woman) against the wall and was threatening her. The witness was screaming for help and that's when the captain showed up. He spent a very long time out of the cockpit trying to restrain the woman, who by then, was foaming at the mouth and completely incoherent. She suddenly had unnatural and tremendous strength. The copilot had to deal with headquarters to tell them what was going on and to get permission to land in gander and have the woman removed. When flight attendants looked through the woman's bag, they not only found stolen items from a flight attendant, they found the injection needle. The canadian police came in through the back door and dragged the woman off. While 1 policeman was interviewing the reporter and others, the reporter looked outside and saw the woman banging her head against window of the police car. The reporter said that the woman was a mental case. The woman was taken to a hospital, instead of jail.

Title: MULTIPLE CABIN ATTENDANT RPT, B767-300-ER, CDG-BOS. WOMAN INTOXICATED WITH DRUGS AND ALCOHOL STOLE LIQUOR FROM CART, ITEMS FROM CABIN ATTENDANT'S PURSE, AND ASSAULTED CABIN ATTENDANT AND CAPT. PAX WAS RESTRAINED AND FLT DIVERTED TO GANDER. POLICE REMOVED HER.
Narrative: A MALE PAX CAME TO ME TO INFORM ME THAT A FEMALE PAX BEHIND HIM WAS STEALING LIQUOR FROM OUR PARKED BEVERAGE CART AND THAT SHE WAS INTOXICATED AND BECOMING EXTREMELY DISRUPTIVE. TRUE TO FORM, THE #2 FLT ATTENDANT AND I LOOKED UP THE AISLE TO SEE THIS FEMALE PAX LEAVING THE AFT VESTIBULE AREA WITH HER ARMS FULL OF LIQUOR MINIS. THE PAX SEATED NEXT TO HER INFORMED US THAT THIS LADY HAD ALSO GIVEN HERSELF 2 SHOTS OF SOMETHING, ONCE IN THE STOMACH, ONCE IN THE THIGH. WE INFORMED THE INTOXICATED PAX THAT SHE COULD NO LONGER DRINK ANY ALCOHOL. SHE BECAME FURIOUS. WE ASKED HER TO MOVE TO THE LAST ROW OF COACH, WHICH WAS EMPTY BECAUSE OTHER PAX WERE BECOMING ALARMED AT HER BEHAVIOR (WE HAD MANY CHILDREN ON THE FLT). SHE DID MOVE, BUT ONLY LONG ENOUGH TO ROB A FLT ATTENDANT OF HER WALLET, JEWELRY, AND GLASSES, WHICH WE LATER DISCOVERED IN THE PAX'S PURSE. THE PAX'S BEHAVIOR WORSENED. WHEN SHE WOULD NOT TAKE HER SEAT AFTER DEMANDING MORE ALCOHOL, I CALLED THE PURSER. HE ATTEMPTED TO GET HER TO CALM DOWN AND TAKE HER SEAT, BUT THE PAX REFUSED, FINALLY GIVING HIM A PUSH. THE CAPT WAS CALLED AND AFTER HE TRIED TO GET HER TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS, THE PAX ALSO PUSHED HIM. THE CAPT LEFT TO RETRIEVE THE WIRE TIE. IT TOOK 3 MEN, 2 WOMEN AND 1/2 HR TO GET THIS WOMAN RESTRAINED, AS SHE WAS FIGHTING, SCREAMING, AND EVEN BIT A FLT ATTENDANT. I BELIEVE IF MY AIRLINE HAD PROVIDED THE CAPT WITH HANDCUFFS, INSTEAD OF A FLIMSY WIRE TIE, THIS SCENE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN PROLONGED AS IT WAS. THE PAX WAS FINALLY SUBDUED AND THE DECISION WAS MADE TO LAND IN GANDER, NEWFOUNDLAND, TO HAVE HER REMOVED. SHE CONTINUED TO WAIL UNTIL LNDG. SHE WAS FROTHING AT THE MOUTH AND WAS UNCONTROLLABLE. THE CANADIAN POLICE DRAGGED HER OFF THE PLANE, AGAIN WITH MUCH RESISTANCE. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THAT EVERYONE WAS FRIGHTENED AND TERRORIZED BY THE WOMAN. THE WITNESS WAS SCREAMING FOR HELP AND THAT'S WHEN THE CAPT SHOWED UP. HE SPENT A VERY LONG TIME OUT OF THE COCKPIT TRYING TO RESTRAIN THE WOMAN, WHO BY THEN, WAS FOAMING AT THE MOUTH AND COMPLETELY INCOHERENT. SHE SUDDENLY HAD UNNATURAL AND TREMENDOUS STRENGTH. THE COPLT HAD TO DEAL WITH HEADQUARTERS TO TELL THEM WHAT WAS GOING ON AND TO GET PERMISSION TO LAND IN GANDER AND HAVE THE WOMAN REMOVED. WHEN FLT ATTENDANTS LOOKED THROUGH THE WOMAN'S BAG, THEY NOT ONLY FOUND STOLEN ITEMS FROM A FLT ATTENDANT, THEY FOUND THE INJECTION NEEDLE. THE CANADIAN POLICE CAME IN THROUGH THE BACK DOOR AND DRAGGED THE WOMAN OFF. WHILE 1 POLICEMAN WAS INTERVIEWING THE RPTR AND OTHERS, THE RPTR LOOKED OUTSIDE AND SAW THE WOMAN BANGING HER HEAD AGAINST WINDOW OF THE POLICE CAR. THE RPTR SAID THAT THE WOMAN WAS A MENTAL CASE. THE WOMAN WAS TAKEN TO A HOSPITAL, INSTEAD OF JAIL.
