Narrative:
Approximately 1 min after takeoff, flight attendant in charge contacted me stating that the flight attendants all smelled an unknown odor similar to electrical burning. I made decision to return to gso, declared an emergency, and landed on runway 23. I stopped straight ahead and, after conferring with the fire commander to confirm no fire, returned to gate and deplaned the passenger.
