Narrative:

After takeoff from omaha on runway 36, started a turn to 300 degrees. Flaps were placed in the flaps 2 degrees detent. The flight engineer called out a split flap condition. Shortly after that the cockpit began to fill with smoke. An emergency was declared and a return to the airport was initiated. We aligned with runway 14 and continued the approach. We crossed the runway threshold at approximately 190 KIAS and a wind from 340 degrees at 15-20 KTS and LLWS alert. The touchdown was smooth and full reverse, spoilers, and braking action was applied. The aircraft was stopped with some runway remaining. We egressed the aircraft down a ladder furnished by fire and rescue. There was no damage to the aircraft except the brakes were melted.
