Narrative:
Procedure in engine overhaul program was changed without the principal maintenance inspector's knowledge or being informed. Discovered quite by accident. Step was added to bake certain parts after plating these parts. Do not allow baking notes in pratt & whitney maintenance manual part number XXXX of affected air transport association sections warn against plating. I have caught some parts that have 'fell out,' but have no way to know if any parts have been ruined yet.

Narrative: PROC IN ENG OVERHAUL PROGRAM WAS CHANGED WITHOUT THE PRINCIPAL MAINT INSPECTOR'S KNOWLEDGE OR BEING INFORMED. DISCOVERED QUITE BY ACCIDENT. STEP WAS ADDED TO BAKE CERTAIN PARTS AFTER PLATING THESE PARTS. DO NOT ALLOW BAKING NOTES IN PRATT & WHITNEY MAINT MANUAL PART NUMBER XXXX OF AFFECTED AIR TRANSPORT ASSOCIATION SECTIONS WARN AGAINST PLATING. I HAVE CAUGHT SOME PARTS THAT HAVE 'FELL OUT,' BUT HAVE NO WAY TO KNOW IF ANY PARTS HAVE BEEN RUINED YET.
