Narrative:
About 30 mi north of miami at XA11Z, the #1 engine strut overheat light illuminated. Followed procedures and light did not go out. Declared an emergency and shut down the #1 engine at XA16. Touched down at mia at XA26Z. All other indications were normal. Informed passenger that fire equipment would check us out. Aircraft looked good, taxied to gate.
