Narrative:
Initial takeoff -- departure. Lax 3, takeoff runway 25R, gross weight 406000 pounds, fuel load approximately 65000 pounds. On initial leveloff at approximately 2000 ft MSL, the problem arose as a 'fire detection loop' caution lamp on the pilot's master caution panel. After complying with pom checklist, it was determined that a possible fire existed in the #3 engine. No visible signs of fire existed, but the checklist calls for shutting the engine down as a precaution. An in-flight emergency was declared with socal departure and we commenced dumping fuel to reduce our gross weight down to 368000 pounds in order to avoid an overweight landing. An engine-out, coupled approach (ILS runway 25L) was flown to a hand-flown landing. All events went without incident. After landing, maintenance discovered a bleed air leak in the #3 high pressure bleed valve.

Title: AN L1011 ON INITIAL CLB AT 4000 FT DECLARED AN EMER AND DIVERTED DUE TO A MASTER CAUTION WARNING ON #3 ENG FIRE DETECTOR LOOP CAUSED BY AN ENG BLEED VALVE LEAK.
Narrative: INITIAL TKOF -- DEP. LAX 3, TKOF RWY 25R, GROSS WT 406000 LBS, FUEL LOAD APPROX 65000 LBS. ON INITIAL LEVELOFF AT APPROX 2000 FT MSL, THE PROB AROSE AS A 'FIRE DETECTION LOOP' CAUTION LAMP ON THE PLT'S MASTER CAUTION PANEL. AFTER COMPLYING WITH POM CHKLIST, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT A POSSIBLE FIRE EXISTED IN THE #3 ENG. NO VISIBLE SIGNS OF FIRE EXISTED, BUT THE CHKLIST CALLS FOR SHUTTING THE ENG DOWN AS A PRECAUTION. AN INFLT EMER WAS DECLARED WITH SOCAL DEP AND WE COMMENCED DUMPING FUEL TO REDUCE OUR GROSS WT DOWN TO 368000 LBS IN ORDER TO AVOID AN OVERWT LNDG. AN ENG-OUT, COUPLED APCH (ILS RWY 25L) WAS FLOWN TO A HAND-FLOWN LNDG. ALL EVENTS WENT WITHOUT INCIDENT. AFTER LNDG, MAINT DISCOVERED A BLEED AIR LEAK IN THE #3 HIGH PRESSURE BLEED VALVE.
