Narrative:

#1 reverser inadvertently installed on #2 engine. Reversers are identical except for a small fairing on top of reverser. The error was not discovered until after 1 flight had been flown. It was discovered when the part numbers removed did not match those issued. Corrective action: aircraft was grounded until correct parts installed. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the only difference between reversers was a small fairing or fin just under the leading edge devices on the inboard side of the engine. The reporter said the right engine thrust reverser had the fairing on the outboard side of the engine.
