Narrative:
I performed the preflight inspection and found 5 or 6 mechanical discrepancies. I was met at the airplane by one of our chief pilots and some other individuals with whom I was not familiar with. One of the maintenance items was plastic erosion tape on the engine pylons. I had written up the tape on the right pylon, but not the left because the left did not appear to be damaged. The chief pilot asked me why I had not written up the left engine pylon speed tape. I told him that it did not appear to be damaged to me. He stated, 'well, I guess the preflight isn't complete then.' the other maintenance items were: composite erosion on right navigation light cover (wingtip), erosion tape damage on right horizontal stabilizer, cargo light mesh cover damaged, and cargo floor covering torn. All were legitimate mechanical discrepancies. Air carrier is attempting to intimidate its pilots into not reporting mechanical problems. The chief pilot also asked me if it was normal for the captain to do the preflight. I stated that sometimes I took the initiative to help out the first officer and that it was my right to do so.

Title: PIC'S RPT ON COMPANY INTIMIDATION. RPTR FEELS THAT HE IS BEING WATCHED BECAUSE OF A RASH OF LOGBOOK WRITE-UPS BY COMPANY PLTS.
Narrative: I PERFORMED THE PREFLT INSPECTION AND FOUND 5 OR 6 MECHANICAL DISCREPANCIES. I WAS MET AT THE AIRPLANE BY ONE OF OUR CHIEF PLTS AND SOME OTHER INDIVIDUALS WITH WHOM I WAS NOT FAMILIAR WITH. ONE OF THE MAINT ITEMS WAS PLASTIC EROSION TAPE ON THE ENG PYLONS. I HAD WRITTEN UP THE TAPE ON THE R PYLON, BUT NOT THE L BECAUSE THE L DID NOT APPEAR TO BE DAMAGED. THE CHIEF PLT ASKED ME WHY I HAD NOT WRITTEN UP THE L ENG PYLON SPD TAPE. I TOLD HIM THAT IT DID NOT APPEAR TO BE DAMAGED TO ME. HE STATED, 'WELL, I GUESS THE PREFLT ISN'T COMPLETE THEN.' THE OTHER MAINT ITEMS WERE: COMPOSITE EROSION ON R NAV LIGHT COVER (WINGTIP), EROSION TAPE DAMAGE ON R HORIZ STABILIZER, CARGO LIGHT MESH COVER DAMAGED, AND CARGO FLOOR COVERING TORN. ALL WERE LEGITIMATE MECHANICAL DISCREPANCIES. ACR IS ATTEMPTING TO INTIMIDATE ITS PLTS INTO NOT RPTING MECHANICAL PROBS. THE CHIEF PLT ALSO ASKED ME IF IT WAS NORMAL FOR THE CAPT TO DO THE PREFLT. I STATED THAT SOMETIMES I TOOK THE INITIATIVE TO HELP OUT THE FO AND THAT IT WAS MY RIGHT TO DO SO.
