Narrative:
The attached highlighted NOTAM is for fai (pafa). The closure, as stated in the NOTAM, is violated countless times each day, as an air carrier has at least 1 and possibly 2 gates with jetways in the area closed to aircraft over 55000 pounds. These gates are used by MD80's, and B737's. The west ramp is uncontrolled. Several attempts to address this with air traffic management have been unsuccessful.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A GND CTLR AT FAI DESCRIBED A NOTAM WHICH STATED THAT ACFT OVER 55000 LBS ARE PROHIBITED FROM OPERATING ON THE W RAMP. HOWEVER, ACR GATES ARE LOCATED THERE AND B737'S AND MD80'S ROUTINELY TAXI ON THE PROHIBITED RAMP TO PARK AT THEIR RESPECTIVE GATES.
Narrative: THE ATTACHED HIGHLIGHTED NOTAM IS FOR FAI (PAFA). THE CLOSURE, AS STATED IN THE NOTAM, IS VIOLATED COUNTLESS TIMES EACH DAY, AS AN ACR HAS AT LEAST 1 AND POSSIBLY 2 GATES WITH JETWAYS IN THE AREA CLOSED TO ACFT OVER 55000 LBS. THESE GATES ARE USED BY MD80'S, AND B737'S. THE W RAMP IS UNCTLED. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO ADDRESS THIS WITH AIR TFC MGMNT HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL.
