Narrative:

On the night of jun/xa/00, flight from slt to bwi, we were given a clearance to descend from FL280 to cross csn at FL190. The captain read back the clearance correctly to the controller, but when I agreed to cross csn at FL190 I was focusing on sacco intersection, which was 23 DME further east on the arrival. Needless to say, the captain was getting busy calling operations and reviewing how he would navigation to the gate after landing. He had not been to bwi in yrs and I had only been once. To make a long story short, we were high at csn and only realized it when the controller questioned us. Only then realizing our mistake, we asked for a vector off course to help our descent. The controller declined our request and just asked us to expedite. No conflict in traffic resulted. Lesson: better situational awareness and CRM.

Narrative: ON THE NIGHT OF JUN/XA/00, FLT FROM SLT TO BWI, WE WERE GIVEN A CLRNC TO DSND FROM FL280 TO CROSS CSN AT FL190. THE CAPT READ BACK THE CLRNC CORRECTLY TO THE CTLR, BUT WHEN I AGREED TO CROSS CSN AT FL190 I WAS FOCUSING ON SACCO INTXN, WHICH WAS 23 DME FURTHER E ON THE ARR. NEEDLESS TO SAY, THE CAPT WAS GETTING BUSY CALLING OPS AND REVIEWING HOW HE WOULD NAV TO THE GATE AFTER LNDG. HE HAD NOT BEEN TO BWI IN YRS AND I HAD ONLY BEEN ONCE. TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT, WE WERE HIGH AT CSN AND ONLY REALIZED IT WHEN THE CTLR QUESTIONED US. ONLY THEN REALIZING OUR MISTAKE, WE ASKED FOR A VECTOR OFF COURSE TO HELP OUR DSCNT.
