Narrative:
I was assigned by my company to accompany an first officer to reposition an aircraft back to atl, GA. Prior to departure back to atl the first officer started his walkaround (preflight). I instructed him that due to the fact this was a maintenance base, be extra cautious on all items of preflight. On the takeoff, when the gear was selected up, we received a 'gear disagree' message. We ran the appropriate checklist and it told us to put gear handle back down -- all messages cleared. As per the checklist we returned to nearest suitable airport, where maintenance found a gear pin in the nose gear. There was no red flag on the pin and it was safety wired in. I called my chief pilot and informed him of situation and asked if there was any further action required. I asked for and received a new release and filled out a report per company policy. Upon returning to the aircraft for second departure, the first officer proceeded to do another walkaround while I completed the preflight checks. I then proceeded to do a preflight of my own. At this point, I found gear pins in both main gear as well. Both with no flags and safety wired, same as the nose gear. I was later told the aircraft was ferried with the gear down the week prior and maintenance never removed them. I also pulled the first officer out and showed him the 2 remaining gear pins. I also informed him that this performance was unacceptable, missing the gear pins twice on 2 separate preflts, and not within standards of company policies. Upon arrival into atl I told the first officer that this would be discussed with the chief pilot and forms filed. The chief pilot interviewed me and informed me no action would be taken against me, but the first officer would be followed up with.

Title: CL65 CREW RETURNS TO LAND AFTER GETTING GEAR DISAGREE WARNING ON GEAR RETRACTION. GEAR PINS WERE FOUND INSTALLED.
Narrative: I WAS ASSIGNED BY MY COMPANY TO ACCOMPANY AN FO TO REPOSITION AN ACFT BACK TO ATL, GA. PRIOR TO DEP BACK TO ATL THE FO STARTED HIS WALKAROUND (PREFLT). I INSTRUCTED HIM THAT DUE TO THE FACT THIS WAS A MAINT BASE, BE EXTRA CAUTIOUS ON ALL ITEMS OF PREFLT. ON THE TKOF, WHEN THE GEAR WAS SELECTED UP, WE RECEIVED A 'GEAR DISAGREE' MESSAGE. WE RAN THE APPROPRIATE CHKLIST AND IT TOLD US TO PUT GEAR HANDLE BACK DOWN -- ALL MESSAGES CLRED. AS PER THE CHKLIST WE RETURNED TO NEAREST SUITABLE ARPT, WHERE MAINT FOUND A GEAR PIN IN THE NOSE GEAR. THERE WAS NO RED FLAG ON THE PIN AND IT WAS SAFETY WIRED IN. I CALLED MY CHIEF PLT AND INFORMED HIM OF SIT AND ASKED IF THERE WAS ANY FURTHER ACTION REQUIRED. I ASKED FOR AND RECEIVED A NEW RELEASE AND FILLED OUT A RPT PER COMPANY POLICY. UPON RETURNING TO THE ACFT FOR SECOND DEP, THE FO PROCEEDED TO DO ANOTHER WALKAROUND WHILE I COMPLETED THE PREFLT CHKS. I THEN PROCEEDED TO DO A PREFLT OF MY OWN. AT THIS POINT, I FOUND GEAR PINS IN BOTH MAIN GEAR AS WELL. BOTH WITH NO FLAGS AND SAFETY WIRED, SAME AS THE NOSE GEAR. I WAS LATER TOLD THE ACFT WAS FERRIED WITH THE GEAR DOWN THE WK PRIOR AND MAINT NEVER REMOVED THEM. I ALSO PULLED THE FO OUT AND SHOWED HIM THE 2 REMAINING GEAR PINS. I ALSO INFORMED HIM THAT THIS PERFORMANCE WAS UNACCEPTABLE, MISSING THE GEAR PINS TWICE ON 2 SEPARATE PREFLTS, AND NOT WITHIN STANDARDS OF COMPANY POLICIES. UPON ARR INTO ATL I TOLD THE FO THAT THIS WOULD BE DISCUSSED WITH THE CHIEF PLT AND FORMS FILED. THE CHIEF PLT INTERVIEWED ME AND INFORMED ME NO ACTION WOULD BE TAKEN AGAINST ME, BUT THE FO WOULD BE FOLLOWED UP WITH.
