Captain flying on autoplt from FL388 to FL390. Slight burble felt then airplane rolled 25 degrees in 2 seconds. Autoplt disconnected and full aileron applied to counter-wake B777 10 NM ahead at FL390. Wind on the nose at 37 KTS. We descended to FL350 and advised ATC.

Title: A B757-200 FLC EXPERIENCE A WAKE TURB ENCOUNTER WHILE CLBING BELOW AND UP TO THE ALT ASSIGNED TO A B777 10 MI AHEAD, 50 MI NE OF GVE, VA.

Narrative: CAPT FLYING ON AUTOPLT FROM FL388 TO FL390. SLIGHT BURBLE FELT THEN AIRPLANE ROLLED 25 DEGS IN 2 SECONDS. AUTOPLT DISCONNECTED AND FULL AILERON APPLIED TO COUNTER-WAKE B777 10 NM AHEAD AT FL390. WIND ON THE NOSE AT 37 KTS. WE DSNDED TO FL350 AND ADVISED ATC.
