Narrative:
This is more of a complaint about ATC procedure than a problem event per southeast. We were flying J191 to pxt and then the rbv 1 ewr. Center changed our clearance to 'turn and fly 020 degrees and intercept J14 and then fly the rbv 1 to ewr.' the problem is not that our route was change -- but that our route was changed leaving us no time to figure out the new routing before flying through the new airway. By the time we located the new route on the chart and dialed it in, we were already flying through the radial and had to turn hard right to try and reintercept. Plus, being close to the station didn't help matters either! Center called us past the airway and we said we were correcting. He then just cleared us direct eno which solved the whole problem. I just feel strongly that if center wants to change our routing that they should do so leaving us ample time to get situated and established on our new course!

Title: RTE CHANGE BY ARTCC AT LAST MIN BRINGS SUGGESTION OF MORE NOTICE DESIRED BY ACR CREW.
Narrative: THIS IS MORE OF A COMPLAINT ABOUT ATC PROC THAN A PROB EVENT PER SE. WE WERE FLYING J191 TO PXT AND THEN THE RBV 1 EWR. CTR CHANGED OUR CLRNC TO 'TURN AND FLY 020 DEGS AND INTERCEPT J14 AND THEN FLY THE RBV 1 TO EWR.' THE PROB IS NOT THAT OUR RTE WAS CHANGE -- BUT THAT OUR RTE WAS CHANGED LEAVING US NO TIME TO FIGURE OUT THE NEW ROUTING BEFORE FLYING THROUGH THE NEW AIRWAY. BY THE TIME WE LOCATED THE NEW RTE ON THE CHART AND DIALED IT IN, WE WERE ALREADY FLYING THROUGH THE RADIAL AND HAD TO TURN HARD R TO TRY AND REINTERCEPT. PLUS, BEING CLOSE TO THE STATION DIDN'T HELP MATTERS EITHER! CTR CALLED US PAST THE AIRWAY AND WE SAID WE WERE CORRECTING. HE THEN JUST CLRED US DIRECT ENO WHICH SOLVED THE WHOLE PROB. I JUST FEEL STRONGLY THAT IF CTR WANTS TO CHANGE OUR ROUTING THAT THEY SHOULD DO SO LEAVING US AMPLE TIME TO GET SITUATED AND ESTABLISHED ON OUR NEW COURSE!
