Narrative:

On jun/fri/00, I was doing releases for our canadair rj's. I waited to talk to the captain of our slc/oma flight (as WX around oma and en route was potentially hazardous) before I did his release. Between the pilot, coordinator, and myself we agreed to go to cpr first to refuel as slc/oma did not have enough extra fuel to maneuver if the PIC had to. Then we would make our decision to go to oma or back to slc if WX worsened. I pulled up flight in our flight control computer which transmits the release and changed the values to reflect cpr as destination and changing the flight plan. For some unknown reason I did not check the WX portion of the release. Upon my supervisor's standard sampling of every dispatcher's nightly releases he happened upon this one which put oma WX instead of cpr WX on the release. A lot of us understood that when we change the takeoff or destination slots, the computer puts in that WX. We found out we are wrong and this misunderstanding will not be repeated.

Title: A DISPATCHER'S RPT ON NOT SENDING THE FUELING STOP ARPT WX TO A CRJ65 PIC ALONG WITH HIS RELEASE. THE WX ATTACHMENT WAS RELATIVE TO THE FINAL DEST ARPT, AN UNEXPECTED COMPUTER GLITCH FOR A LAST MIN DEST CHANGE FOR FLT OUT OF SLC, UT.

Narrative: ON JUN/FRI/00, I WAS DOING RELEASES FOR OUR CANADAIR RJ'S. I WAITED TO TALK TO THE CAPT OF OUR SLC/OMA FLT (AS WX AROUND OMA AND ENRTE WAS POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS) BEFORE I DID HIS RELEASE. BTWN THE PLT, COORDINATOR, AND MYSELF WE AGREED TO GO TO CPR FIRST TO REFUEL AS SLC/OMA DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH EXTRA FUEL TO MANEUVER IF THE PIC HAD TO. THEN WE WOULD MAKE OUR DECISION TO GO TO OMA OR BACK TO SLC IF WX WORSENED. I PULLED UP FLT IN OUR FLT CTL COMPUTER WHICH XMITS THE RELEASE AND CHANGED THE VALUES TO REFLECT CPR AS DEST AND CHANGING THE FLT PLAN. FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON I DID NOT CHK THE WX PORTION OF THE RELEASE. UPON MY SUPVR'S STANDARD SAMPLING OF EVERY DISPATCHER'S NIGHTLY RELEASES HE HAPPENED UPON THIS ONE WHICH PUT OMA WX INSTEAD OF CPR WX ON THE RELEASE. A LOT OF US UNDERSTOOD THAT WHEN WE CHANGE THE TKOF OR DEST SLOTS, THE COMPUTER PUTS IN THAT WX. WE FOUND OUT WE ARE WRONG AND THIS MISUNDERSTANDING WILL NOT BE REPEATED.
