Unknown quantity of CF6-50-80A-80c2-6 rotating parts damaged by improper cleaning methods. Example: disc xyz a C F6-6 hpt stg 2 disk shop order task line XXX was signed off as being wet vapor blast per standard practice manual when in fact it was blasted with 120 dry grit which is not authority/authorized by any manual. This has happened on numerous other parts also.

Title: MD11 ENG COMPRESSOR DISCS WERE DAMAGED IN AN ENG SHOP CLEANING PROC WHEN UNTRAINED TECHNICIANS USED UNAPPROVED CLEANING METHODS.
Narrative: UNKNOWN QUANTITY OF CF6-50-80A-80C2-6 ROTATING PARTS DAMAGED BY IMPROPER CLEANING METHODS. EXAMPLE: DISC XYZ A C F6-6 HPT STG 2 DISK SHOP ORDER TASK LINE XXX WAS SIGNED OFF AS BEING WET VAPOR BLAST PER STANDARD PRACTICE MANUAL WHEN IN FACT IT WAS BLASTED WITH 120 DRY GRIT WHICH IS NOT AUTH BY ANY MANUAL. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON NUMEROUS OTHER PARTS ALSO.
