Narrative:

We were late trying to get out of stl when company asked us, when we were getting ready to close the door, if we could take a jump seater. I told them that I would wait since they were already sending him down. I asked the jump seater if he was an rj pilot and familiar with our procedures, and he said no. I asked him if he was an E120 pilot, and he said yes. Once we leveled off at cruise altitude, the first officer asked our jump seater how long he had been in the E120? He replied that he was not a pilot in the E120 that he had lied. He admitted to being a customer service representative. I did not check for his certificate. I only looked at the jump seat slip and his identify to verify that he worked for air carrier X.
