Narrative:
I was the PF on falcon 20F on jul/sat/00, at approximately AB30 pm local time. We were in mcguire approach airspace. It sounded like there might have been some training going on at the facility. We were at 5000 ft MSL and told to descend to 2000 ft. The captain read back 2000 ft. Once we were at 2400 ft MSL the controller wanted to know what we were doing. We told them we were descending to 2000 ft. They said maintain 3000 ft. So I climbed back to 3000 ft. Then they handed us off to philadelphia approach. No action was taken that I know on their part.
