Narrative:
Landed river visual runway 19 dca, crossed intersection of runway 31/21. Cleared at taxiway a. Advised to hold short of runway 21 at taxiway J for landing traffic. Held short, well clear, but unable to discern hold short line until on it. Traffic landed runway 21. We were cleared across runway 21 to our gate. No conflict or reference to taxiway position.
