Narrative:
While departing from a beach (flying boat) adjacent to the sand point marina, the airflow from the propellers knocked over a small sailboat. There were quite a few sailboats and pedalos which converged on our prospective exit track. Avoiding action taken which avoided the first group of sightseers and sailors. As the second group continued to converge we turned right and applied some power to clear the area. Subsequently we learned that our propeller wash had upset 1 sailboat -- no casualties. Although we took adequate precautions to ensure that our initial departure from the beach was clear of all personnel and equipment, the incident could have been avoided if we had utilized the services of the local marine sheriff who was located in the marina.
