Narrative:
Was VFR on top expecting destination, fhr, airport's fog to be breaking up based on what FBO told me just before departure. Diverted to bellingham for landing and needed vector approach because wasn't IFR current and wasn't comfortable shooting ILS approach. Was concerned because fuel was getting low. To prevent reoccurrence just need to keep IFR current.
