Narrative:

On a personal pleasure flight, no irregularities were noted. However, I was notified by an officer of the flying club which owns said aircraft that an airworthiness directive requiring replacement of the oil filter had likely expired, invalidating the aircraft's airworthiness certificate, until such a time as the oil filter could be replaced. At the time the airworthiness directive compliance infraction was detected, the aircraft had already flown 18 hours past the stipulated filter change time, making it likely that it had expired prior to my flight on said date. The airworthiness directive time was discovered during a ramp check when another club member was preparing for his CFI check ride.

Title: A PVT PLT WAS ADVISED BY MAINT PERSONNEL AFTER A FLT THAT THE ACFT HAD BEEN OPERATED PAST THE MANDATORY COMPLIANCE TIME FOR ACCOMPLISHING AN AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE.

Narrative: ON A PERSONAL PLEASURE FLT, NO IRREGULARITIES WERE NOTED. HOWEVER, I WAS NOTIFIED BY AN OFFICER OF THE FLYING CLUB WHICH OWNS SAID ACFT THAT AN AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE REQUIRING REPLACEMENT OF THE OIL FILTER HAD LIKELY EXPIRED, INVALIDATING THE ACFT'S AIRWORTHINESS CERTIFICATE, UNTIL SUCH A TIME AS THE OIL FILTER COULD BE REPLACED. AT THE TIME THE AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE COMPLIANCE INFRACTION WAS DETECTED, THE ACFT HAD ALREADY FLOWN 18 HRS PAST THE STIPULATED FILTER CHANGE TIME, MAKING IT LIKELY THAT IT HAD EXPIRED PRIOR TO MY FLT ON SAID DATE. THE AIRWORTHINESS DIRECTIVE TIME WAS DISCOVERED DURING A RAMP CHK WHEN ANOTHER CLUB MEMBER WAS PREPARING FOR HIS CFI CHK RIDE.
