Followed pom, fom checklists and procedures. On return to hnl, had no further problems. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: first officer stated that the engine rolled back in RPM along with the fuel low pressure light coming on. An emergency was declared with sfo radio as well as on VHF so that other acrs were aware of the problem. Postflt inspection revealed that the high stage impeller on the engine driven fuel pump had failed.
