In the vicinity of ffu and on vectors for the approach to runway 34R (slc) we were struck by lightning or had a static discharge. We were no closer than 20 mi to any cell but were at times in heavy rainshowers.

Narrative: IN THE VICINITY OF FFU AND ON VECTORS FOR THE APCH TO RWY 34R (SLC) WE WERE STRUCK BY LIGHTNING OR HAD A STATIC DISCHARGE. WE WERE NO CLOSER THAN 20 MI TO ANY CELL BUT WERE AT TIMES IN HVY RAINSHOWERS.
