Narrative:
During taxi to gate, aircraft wingtip contacted emergency vehicle. Vehicles were parked next to terminal at gate xx at dca. Red and white safety area lines do not extend far enough for ground personnel to tell if vehicles are parked across the line. Vehicles did protrude into the safety area and at the completion of the 90 degree left turn in to the gate area the right wingtip static discharge wick made contact with a lens cover on the vehicle. Red and white lines need to be extended so nothing can be parked in that area and ground personnel stop the aircraft prior to the turn to correct the situation.
