Narrative:
Took off of waco, tx (act). We got a cargo door light on central warning panel. We returned to land right away. In the traffic pattern, the warning went away, but the captain wanted to land and have the ground personnel check the door. We landed safely. The door was secure. It must have been in the sensor system. Now to the problem. I questioned the captain about calling dispatch with the situation. He refused. He said that he was talking to operations on the radio. I did not hear what they were talking about because I was making a PA to our passenger and the flight attendant, informing them of the situation. I was also talking to the ground controller in waco tower on the other radio. I told the captain I thought we needed to get a new flight release before we left. He said we did not. We left act and had an uneventful flight to dfw. Everything about the flight was safe. That is not my situation. After landing at dfw, I reviewed the company manual, and read that we should have gotten a new release before we left waco the second time. I do not know what the captain was saying to operations. He may have received a verbal release before we left, but I am not sure.
