Narrative:

Cruising in IMC over yucatan peninsula, mexico, we experienced moderate-plus turbulence. The radar was on, but no radar echoes were displayed directly on our path of flight. Light precipitation (green color) was displayed to the left and right at a distance of 25-30 mi. We had 2 episodes of moderate-plus turbulence lasting 20 seconds a piece, about 2 mins apart. And the second episode, 2 flight attendants in the aft galley were injured, one with a cut to the head that later required 3 stitches to close and another with a foot and hip impact. No broken bones. Both flight attendants were able to continue on to the destination which was panama. The seat belt sign had been turned on and was on at the time the turbulence struck. The flight attendants were warned to discontinue cabin service at the time of the first episode, but had not completed putting their service carts away by the time the second episode occurred and thus were injured at that time. No passenger injuries were reported, as all but one customer was seated. The one passenger not seated was in the aft lavatory, but also reported that he was okay. The turbulence did not effect the control of the aircraft.
