Narrative:

Aircraft xyz had a #1 main tire assembly worn to limits. Procedure calls for removing 2 each bolts from the main gear door, attach rod and extending the rod, to facilitate removing the tire. When the #1 main with tire assembly was changed, the main gear door rod is supposed to be returned to the original position, and the 2 bolts with nuts reinstalled. Due to thinking of GPS troubleshooting (both on dmi 'deferred maintenance item'), I neglected to reposition and reinstall the 2 bolts.
