Narrative:

On sep/xa/00, my first officer and I were repositioning an empty plane from phf to iad under far part 91 operations. At roughly XA45, we executed a missed approach on ILS runway 1R at iad. We were advised by tower to fly runway heading and maintain 2000 ft. I read back those instructions. We were then handed over to approach control. In the process of executing our missed approach procedures, the first officer flew through our assigned altitude of 2000 ft. I advised him of the altitude deviation and he immediately started correcting. Maximum altitude deviation was approximately 350 ft. Approach asked what our assigned altitude was from the previous controller. I advised him that we were assigned 2000 ft and that we were in the process of correcting. Nothing more was mentioned from ATC regarding the altitude discrepancy.

Title: A JETSTREAM 31 COMMUTER ACFT CLBS ABOVE THE ASSIGNED ALT DURING A MISSED APCH AT IAD.

Narrative: ON SEP/XA/00, MY FO AND I WERE REPOSITIONING AN EMPTY PLANE FROM PHF TO IAD UNDER FAR PART 91 OPS. AT ROUGHLY XA45, WE EXECUTED A MISSED APCH ON ILS RWY 1R AT IAD. WE WERE ADVISED BY TWR TO FLY RWY HDG AND MAINTAIN 2000 FT. I READ BACK THOSE INSTRUCTIONS. WE WERE THEN HANDED OVER TO APCH CTL. IN THE PROCESS OF EXECUTING OUR MISSED APCH PROCS, THE FO FLEW THROUGH OUR ASSIGNED ALT OF 2000 FT. I ADVISED HIM OF THE ALTDEV AND HE IMMEDIATELY STARTED CORRECTING. MAX ALTDEV WAS APPROX 350 FT. APCH ASKED WHAT OUR ASSIGNED ALT WAS FROM THE PREVIOUS CTLR. I ADVISED HIM THAT WE WERE ASSIGNED 2000 FT AND THAT WE WERE IN THE PROCESS OF CORRECTING. NOTHING MORE WAS MENTIONED FROM ATC REGARDING THE ALT DISCREPANCY.
