Narrative:
Contacted oak tower for transition through class C/D airspace while tracking oak 150 degree radial and was advised by oak tower that we were within hwd airspace (without clearance). Normal transition over bay requires tracking or being southwest of oak 150 degree radial in order to avoid hwd airspace. Note: being over water there are no landmarks to determine position/airspace boundaries. I showed 2 dots right of course, but, due to distance from VOR, thought I was clear of hwd class D airspace.
