Narrative:
Operating flight cvg-swf we were cleared for the visual to runway 28. A normal descent to landing was made and upon the landing flare a deer was illuminated in the landing lights. Due to the night conditions I did not have sufficient time to miss the deer. The deer was struck on the right inbound flap. The remainder of the landing and rollout was uneventful. I do not know what could have been done to prevent this occurrence, wildlife is part of our world and there were fences around the airport boundary.
