Narrative:
Ground personnel loaded 2 spillable batteries for a passenger wheel chair in the cargo hold. Our flight operations manual says the captain is to be advised of dangerous goods. Our company ground operations manual says verbal or written notification to captain with the location is all that is required. Obviously, this restricts the amount of information available in an emergency or to fire/rescue personnel.
