Narrative:
A small group of female passenger boarded at msy. I was told by a flight attendant that they had been drinking and an altercation had occurred at the gate prior to boarding with this group and some of our other passenger. Because alcohol was a factor, I directed the flight attendant not to serve them alcohol. Inadvertently, at least 1 of the female group was served alcohol, and this served to make the others in the group angry. I was briefed in-flight by the #4 flight attendant that they had calmed down and the situation was ok. After landing, one of the females asked for my name -- I gave that to her. I found out later that another commotion ensued at the gate at ord. I suspect that group will file a service complaint against the company.

Title: PLT RPT, S80, MSY-ORD. GROUP OF INTOXICATED FEMALES BOARDED. CAPT ORDERED NO ALCOHOL BE SERVED. PAX CRATED COMMOTION AT GATE IN MSY, ORD.
Narrative: A SMALL GROUP OF FEMALE PAX BOARDED AT MSY. I WAS TOLD BY A FLT ATTENDANT THAT THEY HAD BEEN DRINKING AND AN ALTERCATION HAD OCCURRED AT THE GATE PRIOR TO BOARDING WITH THIS GROUP AND SOME OF OUR OTHER PAX. BECAUSE ALCOHOL WAS A FACTOR, I DIRECTED THE FLT ATTENDANT NOT TO SERVE THEM ALCOHOL. INADVERTENTLY, AT LEAST 1 OF THE FEMALE GROUP WAS SERVED ALCOHOL, AND THIS SERVED TO MAKE THE OTHERS IN THE GROUP ANGRY. I WAS BRIEFED INFLT BY THE #4 FLT ATTENDANT THAT THEY HAD CALMED DOWN AND THE SIT WAS OK. AFTER LNDG, ONE OF THE FEMALES ASKED FOR MY NAME -- I GAVE THAT TO HER. I FOUND OUT LATER THAT ANOTHER COMMOTION ENSUED AT THE GATE AT ORD. I SUSPECT THAT GROUP WILL FILE A SVC COMPLAINT AGAINST THE COMPANY.
