Narrative:
As we leveled at 11000 ft, ATC gave us the correct altimeter setting. We were indicating 29.76 instead of 29.96. This error caused us an altitude that was higher than 11000 ft.

Title: AN ATX WESTWIND JET FLC FLYING NEAR DAL FAILED TO SELECT THE PROPER ALTIMETER SETTING RESULTING IN AN ALTDEV AT LEVELOFF.
Narrative: AS WE LEVELED AT 11000 FT, ATC GAVE US THE CORRECT ALTIMETER SETTING. WE WERE INDICATING 29.76 INSTEAD OF 29.96. THIS ERROR CAUSED US AN ALT THAT WAS HIGHER THAN 11000 FT.
