Narrative:
Rejected takeoff due to slow loss of #1 engine power likely caused by faulty fuel control unit from preliminary maintenance 'look.' just prior to V1/vr loss of power on #1 engine became evident/signaled by engine failure caution light. Captain called abort and took control of aircraft. Engine reversers and wheel braking normal application brought aircraft to a controled stop on the runway. Supplemental information from acn 487687: we stopped on the runway and taxied clear at the end of the runway. Called for fire coverage to inspect the brakes and had the aircraft towed to the gate. Supplemental information from acn 487690: had emergency equipment follow.
