Narrative:

I was the first officer (PF) on flight. We were given a route check by an FAA inspector upon reaching stl, we were given a debrief including 4 points. In mco, a comment was made about a voice on the radio. The aircraft was stopped with the brakes parked. We were reprimanded on 'sterile cockpit.' a question was asked about the maximum speed of the aircraft. The maximum speed was never exceeded. I left the cockpit to use the lavatory above FL250. PNF was putting the mask on while I was getting up. I was reprimanded on not leaving the seat until the other pilot has the mask on. Finally, a slight exceedance of 250 KTS below 10000 ft. The slight exceedance was followed by a prompt recovery. No deliberate attempt to exceed an airspeed restr. At no time was the safety of this flight, or any other, in jeopardy. There were no deliberate attempts to break regulations, or safety compromises on this flight -- by the book. The tone of the inspector was as if there was a violation on the way. The topic was left very vague as he left.
