Narrative:
Signed student's logbook for solo cross country flight from dpa-dnv-pia-dpa at XA00. We had planned to be back at dpa by XD50. Sunset was at XE05 with civil twilight duration of 29 mins. Student was running late due to traffic congestion in pia and arrived safely back at dpa at XE45. Student has had no training on night flying. What I can do to prevent this from happening again is to plan more 'fudge factor' for their arrival back into the home base. Also, teach the student and fly at night before starting the solo cross country phase of their training.
