Narrative:
Upon gear extension, there were no visual lights to confirm the gear was down with the lights in the 'dim' setting. With the warning lights in the 'bright' setting, we had good confirmation the gear was down and locked. Conferred with maintenance and landed uneventfully.

Title: A B737-500 ON FINAL AT 2300 FT EXECUTED A MISSED APCH DUE TO ALL GREEN GEAR POS LIGHTS INOP IN 'DIM' MODE OK IN 'TEST' AND 'BRIGHT.' LANDED USING 'BRIGHT' MODE.
Narrative: UPON GEAR EXTENSION, THERE WERE NO VISUAL LIGHTS TO CONFIRM THE GEAR WAS DOWN WITH THE LIGHTS IN THE 'DIM' SETTING. WITH THE WARNING LIGHTS IN THE 'BRIGHT' SETTING, WE HAD GOOD CONFIRMATION THE GEAR WAS DOWN AND LOCKED. CONFERRED WITH MAINT AND LANDED UNEVENTFULLY.
