Narrative:

Company requires signoff of the route and aircraft time at end of the day. Was distraction and left the airplane book not signed off. Mechanic called me at home and asked me to come in and sign airplane off before the next flight. I came in and signed the aircraft off. FAA maintenance inspector was there and stated that I was in violation of the regulations by not signing the book.

Title: ACFT LOG NOT COMPLETED ON ARR. MAINT CATCHES IT AND CALLS CREW TO RETURN TO PROPERLY COMPLETE IT. FAA INSPECTOR NOTES DEFICIENCY.

Narrative: COMPANY REQUIRES SIGNOFF OF THE RTE AND ACFT TIME AT END OF THE DAY. WAS DISTR AND LEFT THE AIRPLANE BOOK NOT SIGNED OFF. MECH CALLED ME AT HOME AND ASKED ME TO COME IN AND SIGN AIRPLANE OFF BEFORE THE NEXT FLT. I CAME IN AND SIGNED THE ACFT OFF. FAA MAINT INSPECTOR WAS THERE AND STATED THAT I WAS IN VIOLATION OF THE REGS BY NOT SIGNING THE BOOK.
